Hi, I remember an old timer telling me, a long time ago, that single tube
crystal controlled transmitters had problems with the crystal heating. Altho,
a 15 watt oscillator might very well have problems with cap heating, too.
Did i understand u right? Is this the infamous single tube crystal controlled
transmitter, from years and years ago, that u have built?

Who makes and where can I obtain an LTC-1099 A-D converter chip. This
chip is part of the JVFAX60 decoder. TIA

The LTC1099 is a High Speed 8-bit A/D converter wih a built in
sample and hold. Linear Technology is the manufacturer.
You can call to Linear Tecnology 408-432-1900 to get a list of
distribuitors.

Subject: Searching for 450 MHz Power transistor !
To: ham-homebrew@ucsd.edu
Hi !
I am rebuilding a E.F. Johnson MT-9100 mobile telephone to be used for the
432-438 MHz amateur band. It works quite well except for the power-amplifier
which seems to have a broken transistor.
Unfortunately these transistors (actually all in the unit) has E.F. Johanson
proprietary numbers on them, and there is no translation table into "normal"
numbers.. However, one can conclude who has manufactured them.
Please could anyone help me translate these E.F. Johnson numbers into real
numbers:
E.F. Johnson # | Manufacturer | Description in partlist | Used as | Notes
4019 Motorola 1 W UHF transistor Class-A TO39
4069 Thomson 2 W UHF transistor Class-C 1)
4061 Motorola 5 W UHF transistor Class-C 2)
4068 Motorola 15 W UHF transistor Class-C 3) 4)
4027 Motorola 45 W UHF transistor Class-C 3)
Notes:
1) Package type : Surface-opposed-emitter.
2) Package type : Surface-opposed-emitter stud mount.
3) Package type : Sorry I don't know the name, it is mounted to the heatsink
with two screws. It has 6 connections, 4 of them emitter and the rest collec and base, Motorola calls it 316-01..
4) In one of the units I convert this one is marked MRF641.
Also, where (in the US or in Europe) can I order smaller quantities of the
above transistors ? (One distributor here in Sweden could supply me with
anything provided that I ordered at least 25 parts...)
Thanks in advance !
/Mattis
